"Underdog Movie Cast"

Jason Lee, aka Earl Hickey, from “My name is Earl” will endow a lemon beagle with his voice for the lead role in the new Underdog movie.  He’s done this type of voice over work before in Disney’s “The Incredibles”.  Jason did a magnificent job with Syndrome, the villain who sought to conquer all the “supers”.

Sweet Polly Purebred will be a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with Amy Adams voice.  In case you’re not familiar with the Cavalier they are an adorable doe-eyed breed with long ears.  Even male Cavaliers are mistakenly called “she” because they have a more feminine look.

Alex Neuberger plays “Jack”, the 12 year old boy who befriends and adopts Underdog in an effort to help him.  Alex is a relative newcomer with only one movie to his credit, “Running Scared”.  His co-star Taylor Momsen, who plays “Molly”, has an extensive resume especially considering her age.  Probably most well-known for her role in “How the Grinch stole Christmas”, she played little Cindy Lou Who.  Don’t expect to see the same little Cindy Lou Who in Underdog that was 6 years ago and she’s grown up a lot.

The cast is littered with seasoned veterans.  James Belushi will play “Dan” the little boy’s father.  Patrick Warburton will be Simon Bar Sinister’s sidekick, Cad.  He’s had plenty of practice at playing a sidekick with his work as “Kronk” from the Emperor’s New Groove.  Peter Dinklage will be the dastardly Simon Bar Sinister.  

No word yet if Underdog will retain the same rhyming dialogue that made him famous in the 1970’s.  Just in case you need a dose of the original rapping dog…

“When Polly screams, I am not slow
It’s HIP, HIP, HIP and away I go!”
